Newsroom / CNA

A 56-year-old man was let out on parole after being accused of killing a dog with a trap.

Michael Nicolaou, the spokesperson for the Pafos CID, mentioned that the 56-year-old man had a court appearance in front of the Pafos District Court last Wednesday, where he faced charges.

The court scheduled the hearing for October 4 and ordered the 56-year-old to follow certain conditions, like signing a personal bond worth 20,000 euros and reporting to the central police station twice a week.

According to Mr. Nicolaou, on Sunday at 19:30, a 30-year-old woman reported to Stubiu police station that she found her dog dead due to a trap.

Following investigations by the Paphos Police, Mr. Nicolaou informed CNA that evidence was collected against a 56-year-old man who had allegedly set up an illegal wire trap, resulting in the unfortunate death of the woman's dog.

An examination was carried out on the dog, and various pieces of evidence were collected.
