Electrocution of vultures sparks concern

Environmental groups urge action to prevent further electrocution deaths

Newsroom

Environmental groups and wildlife experts are upset about vultures getting electrocuted in Cyprus. They're urging the EAC to do something about it.

Last Saturday, two vultures were found dead near Kelokedara and Salamios. They say these deaths could've been prevented if the electricity company had fixed the problem earlier.

This isn't the first time it's happened. In April, another vulture died in the same area. And back in 2018, one got electrocuted by a power line there too.

The groups are mad because they've been warning about this for a while, but nothing's been done. They're asking the power company to take action fast to protect the vultures.
