Five arrested in Ayia Napa tourist rape probe

Security cameras key in Ayia Napa gang rape investigation

The police are still looking into the case of a 20-year-old tourist who reported a gang rape in Ayia Napa.

In this case, the authorities have arrested five people from Israel. They were taken to the Famagusta District Court and are now in custody for eight days. The arrested individuals are young, aged 20 and 19.

According to the victim's statement, someone approached her at the hotel pool, and they later went to a room. She claims that four other people then entered the room and sexually assaulted her.

The investigators are carefully examining the complaint, and they will also review the footage from the security cameras.
