Health Ministry announces three deaths, 128 new cases

Cyprus hospitals are currently treating 155 coronavirus patients, 52 of which are in critical condition

The Health Ministry on Wednesday announced three coronavirus fatalities and 128 new cases, raising the death toll to 193 and total cases detected so far to 30,380.

The fatalities involved a 76-year-old woman, an 80-year-old man and an 84-year-old man, all of whom suffered from underlying health conditions.

The new cases emerged after 12,133 tests were conducted. Of the 128 new cases, 57 involved people who tested positive to a rapid test.

The remaining 48 were contacts, 19 were people who took the initiative to get tested, three were people who got tested at general hospitals, while one was tested either upon the referral of their GP or as part of special health groups.

Cyprus hospitals are currently treating 155 coronavirus patients, 52 of which are in critical condition.

47 patients are in the Famagusta general hospital, four of which are in the ICU. The Nicosia general hospital is also treating 66 patients, 36 of which are in the ICU. 41 more coronavirus patients are at the Limassol general hospital where six are in the ICU, while one more is at the Makario hospital in Nicosia.
