Efforts are underway to launch targeted testing in Limassol after the group of experts consulting the Health Ministry said there was a need to get a clearer picture of the situation there, as officially Limassol currently hosts the least numbers of confirmed cases.

Limassol Mayor Nicos Nicolaides has already contacted the Health Ministry to get preparations going for a round of targeted testing similar to the process completed in Paphos.

On Wednesday, the round of targeted sampling in Paphos was finalized, with four testing positive from a total of 704 samples, collected from among the total Paphos population of 52,000.

Paphos Mayor Phedon Phedonos took to twitter to urge the public to not show complacency after the targeted sampling results showed that 0.56% of the district’s population tested positive
