UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' continued commitment to the Cyprus problem was conveyed to Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar by UN Assistant Secretary-General Miroslav Yetzia.
In a statement after a meeting in the occupied territories with Mr. Tatar, Yetzia thanked him, calling it a "very fruitful discussion" and saying that "we covered many issues of common interest".
"I conveyed to Mr. Tatar the Secretary-General's continued commitment to the Cyprus problem. We hope that in the future there will be common ground for the resumption of peace talks for the benefit of all people," he added.
"Let us hope for the best," he concluded.
