Humanitarian organizations coordinated through a maritime corridor from Cyprus have delivered critical shelter and food supplies to families in Gaza, officials said Friday, as winter approaches and living conditions for displaced residents deteriorate.
The Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that shipments arrived through the “Amalthea Plan” maritime corridor after close collaboration with international partners, including the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the nonprofit All Hands & Hearts. Distribution of the aid to families began immediately, and more supplies are expected in the coming days.

All Hands & Hearts shared images showing 40,000 tarps, rolls of duct tape and rope, and 120 pallets of rice, enough to feed 30,000 people for ten days. The materials are intended to help families repair makeshift shelters and fix damaged roofs and buildings, providing protection against the approaching winter.
“Winter is coming to Gaza, which means shelter material is critical,” Nate Mook, chief executive of All Hands & Hearts, wrote on social media. He added, “We’ve started delivering to families living outside.”

The need for aid reinforces the continued strain on Gaza’s civilian population, many of whom live in temporary or damaged housing with limited access to basic necessities. Officials said the Cyprus maritime corridor, established to expedite humanitarian relief, has become a crucial lifeline for organizations seeking to reach the region efficiently.
Further shipments are planned to address ongoing humanitarian needs, officials said.
