The Cypriot National Badminton Team has won the gold medal at the Small States of Europe Badminton Team Championships held in Malta 3-5 November 2023.
According to a press release, Cyprus defeated the teams from Isle of Man 5-0, Iceland 3-2 and Greenland 4-1.
In the semi finals Cyprus won Malta 3-1 and secured its place to the final where it defeated Iceland for the second time during the Games with the same score 3-2.
Cyprus Badminton Federation President Panayiotis Hadjipantelis said that this is probably the greatest success of Cyprus national badminton team and noted that the Federation closely cooperates with the Cyprus Olympic Committee to include badminton in the Games of the Small States of Europe.
As noted, the next Small States of Europe Badminton Team Championships will take place in Cyprus in November 2024.
