Cyprus' Shipping Deputy Minister honored by International Propeller Club

Cyprus' Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanoli has been selected by the International Propeller Club Awards Committee as the Maritime Person of the Year for 2024 Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis announced in a written statement on Friday.

Letymbiotis said that the selection of the Deputy Minister was announced on Friday, October 25, during the International Propeller Club Annual Convention held in Tampa, Florida, USA.

According to the Government Spokesperson, Hadjimanoli is "the first Cypriot woman to receive this prestigious award", which has been presented annually since 1984, "in recognition of contributions to the commercial shipping industry internationally".

Letymbotis added that this is "a very important international recognition for Cyprus and the work carried out by Nikos Christodoulides' government in the shipping sector," noting that this recognition comes for the first time in 40 years.
