Police in Limassol have arrested a 44-year-old woman accused of scamming more than €150,000 through fraudulent property deals involving land in the island’s Turkish-occupied north.

Investigators say that between October 2023 and May 2025, the suspect allegedly persuaded victims she could secure compensation and arrange sales of their properties. Authorities say she collected large sums of money under false pretenses before the scheme was uncovered.

Four people have filed complaints with Limassol’s Criminal Investigation Department, leading to a court issuing an arrest warrant on Sept. 2. Officers took the woman into custody late Wednesday morning.

The case is being pursued by the Financial Crime Investigation Unit of the Limassol CID, which is continuing its investigation.
