Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos tweeted that he invited Petrides to Athens for a face-to-face meeting

Cyprus’ new Defence Minister Charalambos Petrides shared his first official telephone conversation with his Greek counterpart Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos on Wednesday.
Petrides assured Panagiotopoulos that close cooperation between the two countries in view of facing every possible threat is a given.
The Cypriot Defence Minister took to Twitter to thank his Greek counterpart “for a warm greeting during our first communication.”
On his part, Panagiotopoulos said in a tweet that he congratulated Petrides on assuming the island’s Defence portfolio.
“I assured him that I fully support him in his mission and invited him to visit Athens,” Panagiotopoulos added.
